Job Title: Underwriting Support Officer
Salary: £18,500 – £22,500
Location: Solihull
Hours: Full Time
Description:
Due to expansion our client, a well-respected and long-established financial services
company based in Solihull is recruiting an Underwriting Support Officer to join their
busy team.
You will be required to work closely with the mortgage underwriters and assist the
team in processing applications through to offer.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle and ideally
underwriting experience.
Key Duties:
Complete final checks and issue mortgage offers
Reviewing and assessing valuation reports
Assess additional information provided by various 3rd parties
Liaising closely with senior mandate holders, surveyors, legal and Support
Services
Completion Officers with regard to ad hoc mortgage conditions where
appropriate
Actioning daily exception reports
Review and cleanse the pre offer pipeline
Completing general administration tasks to support the team
Contributing positively to team meetings
Assessment of mortgage applications
Communication with intermediaries and customers in regards to updates and
decisions
Prepare detailed summaries and recommendations
Key Skills/Experience Required:
Some business awareness and knowledge of the buy-to-let mortgage industry
Good attention to detail
Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office applications. Working
knowledge of Aries would be an advantage.
Knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle
Proven ability to assess and apply risk assessment
Ability to assess bank statements, company accounts and cash flow forecasts
Adapt communication style as and when required
The ability to remain calm under pressure
An excellent telephone manner
A can-do attitude
In return for your hard work, as a Underwriting Support Officer you will earn a
starting salary of £18,500 – £22,500 depending on experience and excellent benefits.
