Technical Sales Engineer

As an exciting business looking to continue its growth strategy, The Force Group is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to provide clients with sales advice and support of our products and services portfolio.

The Technical Sales Engineers role is to:

  • Provide support for technical and commercial enquiries
  • Look at all enquiries and understand the sales potential in them
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements, understand their needs and advise what products are best for the customer
  • Look to develop the offering by cross selling across the group; valves, pumps, heat exchangers, controls and service packages
  • Offer the total package from design and installation to project management
  • Develop long term relationships with customers and follow up quotes
  • Provide professional technical quotes for customers
  • Understand the product range and offer technical advice to customer
  • Calculate customer quotations
  • Support marketing activities by following up literature sent out and development of target audience
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team
  • Offer after sales support and service agreements

About You:

  • Knowledgeable in the area of valves, pumps, heat exchangers, controls and service packages would be beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
  • Experience in sales would be advantageous
  • Strong customer service, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational, research and multitasking abilities
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Great active listening skills 

The Job:

  • Full time / permanent
  • Up to £26,000-£30,000 basic pay
  • 22 days holiday
  • Pension scheme
  • Based in Solihull, West Midlands
  • Reporting into the General Manager
