Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter

Salary: £18,500 – £40,000

Location: Solihull

Hours: Full Time

Description:

Due to expansion our client, a well-respected and long-established financial services company based in Solihull is recruiting a Mortgage Underwriter to join their busy Underwriting team.

You will be required to assess, analyse, underwriter and process all new buy-to-let mortgage applications from application through to offer.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle and ideally underwriting experience.

Key Duties:

  • Assessment of mortgage applications
  • Preparation of detailed risk analysis
  • Communication with intermediaries and customers regarding updates and decisions
  • Analyse and assess relevant incoming post
  • Assess ability to pay using bank statements and company accounts
  • Review valuation reports
  • Carry out KYC checks
  • Collate and analyse all documentation relating to risk
  • Prepare detailed summaries and recommendations
  • Assess transfer of equity requests

Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle
  • Ideally experience in an underwriting role
  • Proven ability to assess and apply risk assessment
  • Ability to assess bank statements, company accounts and cash flow forecasts
  • Adapt communication style as and when required
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • A can-do attitude

In return for your hard work, as a Mortgage Underwriter you will earn a starting salary of £18,500 – £40,000 depending on experience and excellent benefits.
