Daytime Send Tutor
We are seeking a qualified teacher and/or teaching assistant with relevant SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) experience to provide essential tuition to children with learning or emotional needs who are currently working below age-related expectations and are awaiting transfer to specialist SEND schools. In the interim, we offer tailored tuition to support the child’s emotional, social, and academic development at a suitable pace.
This role is in person, face-to-face (NOT online).

Our Approach: As tutors we focus on empowering progress through:
~ Emotional Literacy
~ Conversation cards
~ Early phonics skills
~ Speech and language development
~ Play based learning
Location: Chelmsley Wood and the wider Solihull areas
Hours: 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, approximately 9 am – 11 am, Monday to Friday)
Responsibilities:
+ Plan tutorials tailored to the needs of assigned students
+ Refer to the EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) during planning and delivery
+ Provide verbal feedback after each session
+ Complete progress reports midway and at the end of the tuition period
Skills:
+ Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and teachers
+ Experience working with children and understanding their educational needs
+ Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
+ Proficiency in tutoring various subjects and adapting teaching strategies to individual learning styles
Requirements:
– Qualified teacher with QTS, teaching assistant with SEND experience, or a tutor with SEND – experience
– A DBS on the live update service (or willingness to undertake one)
