Job Title: Finance Assistant
Place of work: Columban Mission Office St. Columban’s, Widney Manor Road, Solihull B93 9AB
Reporting to: Regional Bursar
Salary range: £9.50 to £10.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 5 hours/week to be worked between 9.00am and 3.00pm Monday to Friday, preferably on a Wednesday.[1]
This role is offered on a fixed term contract until Friday 29th January 2021
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Bursar, the Finance Assistant will provide support with the following duties:-
- Prepare cheques and cash for banking.
- Process and file invoices and receipts
- Assist with processing expense claims and petty cash procedures.
- Collate and input into Sage accounts detailed and accurate monthly accounts for Columban houses, ministries and offices in Britain, including bank reconciliations and balance sheets.
- Undertake any other tasks and duties that arise which will lead to best practice in the way we handle, report on and account for our finances.
In the course of these duties, you will be expected to develop a working knowledge of the financial policies and procedures of the Missionary Society of St. Columban, and of regulations, policies and procedures relating to Charity finance in England, Wales and Scotland.

Competency in Microsoft Office (2010 or later), especially Excel

Employment or volunteering in a charity or Catholic organisation
