JOB DESCRIPTION 22 hours per week Monday and Tuesday, 10.30am to 4.30pm Wednesday and Thursday 11.00am to 4.00pm Salary : £22,540.00 pa pro rata (pay award pending)

JOB TITLE: Clubs and Activities Coordinator

LOCATION: The main base for the purpose of travel and expenses, is The Core, Solihull B91 3RG. There will be a requirement to work from any Age UK Solihull Office without notice in line with the needs of the organisation now and in the future. Working from home may be required. The post requires travel across the borough of Solihull including home visits.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Services

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Club Volunteers

JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate Age UK Solihull clubs and develop new activities for older people to enjoy. To ensure the health and safety of clients, volunteers and staff.

DUTIES:

1. Work with volunteers and clients to provide stimulating and fun clubs and activities, appropriate for the client group.

2. Organise the setting up of all clubs and activities.

3. Work with venues to ensure the smooth running of the clubs and activities.

4. Coordinate transport, where required, for the clients of the clubs and on occasion to use your own car to provide transport for clients, which will mean that you will have to insure your car for business use.

5. Organise refreshments as required ensuring Food Hygiene legislation is observed.

6. Record accidents, unusual behaviour or incidents and report to the Director of Services.

7. Clients attending the clubs and activities will be self managing in toileting and mealtimes, however, there may be rare occasions when minimal assistance is required.

8. Visit prospective clients to assess their needs and the suitability of Age UK Solihull clubs and activities.

9. Regularly review clients attending the clubs and activities to ensure appropriate placement and refer clients on to more appropriate services as necessary.

10. Follow Age UK Solihull Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and carry out regular risk assessments to ensure the health and safety of clients, staff and volunteers. Ensure that premises, transport and activities conform to current legislation.

11. Responsibility for cash handling and banking and keep up to date accounts observing the financial procedures of the organisation.

12. Keep accurate daily administrative records and prepare reports as required.

13. Arrange for volunteers to attend team meetings and training sessions as required.

14. Assist in the recruitment of volunteers and to provide supervision to volunteers.

15. Work with other agencies on issues affecting clients or the operation of the clubs.

16. Network with appropriate organisations to increase club membership when necessary.

17. Follow all policies, procedures as established by Age UK Solihull.

18. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

19. Work as part of the wider Age UK Solihull team, take a flexible approach, and be led by demand across all parts of the service and wider organisation.

20. To attend any training or meetings deemed necessary.

21. To undertake any other duties that may be required.

Additional Notes All staff are expected to work flexibly All staff have a particular responsibility for ensuring that Safeguarding Adults legislation and guidelines are adhered to, that the well-being of at risk individuals is promoted and that at risk individuals are aware of their right to protection from all forms of abuse.

A full driving licence and use of a car is essential. All staff have an individual responsibility to comply with Age UK Solihull’s Policy and Practice on Health and Safety Matters.
